مغربی تہذیب‘ اسلام دشمنی کےعمیق اسباب
Well, are nations and ivilizations
anything but olletive individuals? Their development also is bound up with the
experienes of their early hildhood. As with hildren, those experienes may have
been pleasant or unpleasant; they may have been perfetly rational or,
alternatively, due to the hild's naïve misinterpretation of an event, the
moulding effet of every suh experiene depends primarily on its original
intensity. The entury immediately preeding the rusades, that is, the end of the
first millennium of the hristian era, might well be desribed as the early
hildhood of Western ivilization.'

The traumati experiene of the rusades gave Eupose its ultural awareness and its unity; but this same experiene was destined heneforth also to provide the false olour in whih Islam was to appear to Western eyes. Not simply beause the rusades meant war and bloodshed. So may wars have been waged between nations and subsequently forgotten, and so many animosities whih in their time seemed ineradiably have later turned into friendships. The damage aused by the rusades was not restrited to a lash of weapons; it was, first and formost, an intelletual damage the poisoning of the Western mind against the Muslim world through a deliberate misrepresentation of the teahing and ideals of Islam. For, if the all for a rusade was to maintain its validity, the Prophet of the Muslims had, of neessity, to be stamped as the Anti-hrist and his religion depited in the most lurid terms as a fount of immorality and perversion. It was at the time of the rusades, that the ludirous notion that Islam was a religion of rude sensualism and brutal violene, of a purifiation of the heart, entered the western mind and remained there; and its was then that the name of the Prophet Muhammad the same Muhammad who had insisted that his own followers respet the prophets of other religions was ontemptuously transformed by Europeans into 'Mahound.'

ہےکہ اسلام ان کا دشمن ہےاور نعوذ باللہ پیغمبر اسلامایک ایسےمذہب کےبانی ہیں جو
غیرمہذب ہی۔ اسد کی اس تشخیص میں جس قدر صداقت ہی۔ حالیہ واقعات نےاس کو ہمیشہ
سےبڑھ کر واضح اور نمایاں کر دیا ہی۔ پاکستان کی یہ تجویز مفید ہےکہ خاکوں کی اشاعت
سےپیدا ہونےوالےبحران پر غور کرنےکیلئےاو آئی سی کےوزرائےخارجہ کا ہنگامی اجلاس
بلایا جانا چاہیی۔ یہ اجلاس جبھی موجودہ بحرانی کیفیت میں کوئی موثر کردار ادا کر
سکےگا جب او آئی سی کےوزرائےخارجہ تنازعےکی تہہ تک جانےکی کوشش کریں گےاور محض
”گونگلوئوں سےمٹی جھاڑنی“ تک محدود نہیں رہیں گی۔
